Stamford Kings's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Knut Helander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. In the 65th minute, Kenneth Samuelsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thor Offendahl in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tom Hammarbäck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stamford Kings's Tom Hammarbäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thor Offendahl in the 70th minute of play. After 77 played minutes, Dundee United's Gustav Åkesson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tom Hammarbäck came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dundee United reached it. Thor Offendahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Hammarbäck having to interfere. If Edward Tomasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tom Hammarbäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thor Offendahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the game, Thor Offendahl cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Tom Hammarbäck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Per-Oskar Glad hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Thor Offendahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Dundee United had won after a very even match.
