Kent Uggla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Jon Pihlwall managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crvena Zvezda's supporters rose to their feet, but Jon Pihlwall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mathias Ahlén breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tobias Strand hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Johan Apelqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustaf Karlstedt having to interfere. Gustaf Karlstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johan Apelqvist in the 19th minute of play. Tobias Strand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathias Ahlén stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tobias Strand's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Apelqvist in the 27th minute of play forced Crvena Zvezda's goalkeeper Gustaf Karlstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Runners's Ernst Hägglund got a free kick in the 28th minute. Jon Pihlwall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mathias Ahlén read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Gustaf Karlstedt made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Dag Dalkvist sent off a good shot on target. Kent Uggla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Gustaf Karlstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Crvena Zvezda getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Bengt-Rune Brolin hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 48 minutes into the game, when Ceferino Restu put in a rough tackle. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Jon Pihlwall made the kick off in the second half. Pavel Tanase kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Crvena Zvezda's Gustaf Karlstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Apelqvist in the 57th minute of play. Dag Dalkvist hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. When Bengt-Rune Brolin fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crvena Zvezda's protests and gave Bengt-Rune Brolin a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Runners booed when Crvena Zvezda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Rune Brolin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70thth minute of the game Johan Apelqvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Crvena Zvezda's Gustaf Karlstedt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Crvena Zvezda's zone, Johan Apelqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustaf Karlstedt came out of the goal and Johan Apelqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute, Gunnar Alstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kent Uggla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Gustaf Karlstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bengt-Rune Brolin kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. FC Runners were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Crvena Zvezda for a fine match.
