The player immediately received a yellow card. Jim Svensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredrik Vennerberg having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, JIK's goal looked a bit too open when Filiph Åkerberg came free, but Tom Pettersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Lundberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Fredrik Vennerberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tom Pettersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filiph Åkerberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Back in the 44th minute of play forced UNREAL MADRID's goalkeeper Fredrik Vennerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Tom Pettersson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
