The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 9 played minutes Mattan United got a freekick which was hit by Olof Holmberg. 14 minutes into the match, Gärestad BK's goal looked a bit too open when Sören Törnkvist came free, but Oliver Martinsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, Alfred Vallmark was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gärestad BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mattan United the free kick. In the 16th minute, one of Gärestad BK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gärestad BK. Benigno Pedrosa placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! A collision led to Gärestad BK getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Henric Dahlberg hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Sören Törnkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mattan United's supporters rose to their feet, but Sören Törnkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliver Martinsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albert Gullesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henric Dahlberg in the 26th minute of play. After 29 minutes, Henric Dahlberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gärestad BK and the Mattan United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Henric Dahlberg hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Mattan United's Rinus Cardinaal seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rinus Cardinaal the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mattan United protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rinus Cardinaal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Mattan United:s Albert Gullesson showed great skill when he stopped Sivert Sellberg:s penalty. A hard shot 38 in the game by Torgny Gustafsson from a close distance when the talented Oliver Martinsson managed to make a qualified save. Gärestad BK's players were relieved. Rudolf Kvarnström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Oliver Martinsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mattan United's Rudolf Kvarnström quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ture Målare, made in the 45th minute of the game. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Torgny Gustafsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Gärestad BK's goal looked a bit too open when Torgny Gustafsson came free, but Oliver Martinsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Torgny Gustafsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Åke Flinck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Albert Gullesson made a huge save. If Åke Flinck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Torgny Gustafsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Martinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Torgny Gustafsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Gärestad BK getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Per-Erik Dalkvist hit a great ball. Torgny Gustafsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rudolf Kvarnström came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Mattan United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rudolf Kvarnström couldn't finish the play. Per-Erik Dalkvist's late challenge caught a Mattan United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Per-Erik Dalkvist helped the player get up and apologised. After 89 played minutes Gärestad BK got a freekick which was hit by Per-Erik Dalkvist. If Torgny Gustafsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Torgny Gustafsson notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Gärestad BK's Oliver Martinsson. Oliver Martinsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that Mattan United were the better team. Mattan United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
