Härnösand's Daddy Cool got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Härnösand's Roy Blomquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Österlund in the 11th minute of play. Roy Blomquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Österlund in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Österbybruk IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pontus Björck to maneuver through the defense. Roy Blomquist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pontus Björck went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Billy Österlund kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Billy Österlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Österbybruk IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Billy Österlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roy Blomquist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31stth minute of the game Bernt Pålsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Härnösand's Roy Blomquist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bernt Pålsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Billy Österlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sverker Löfgren kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. When Billy Österlund, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 38 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Roy Blomquist was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Sverker Löfgren took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andréas Stenberg. Andréas Stenberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 47 minutes into the match, Österbybruk IF's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Nordin came free, but Andréas Stenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Billy Österlund to strike the kick off in the second half. Andréas Stenberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sverker Löfgren's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. After 55 minutes of play, Österbybruk IF's Bernt Pålsson made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roy Blomquist was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Österbybruk IF booed when Härnösand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulf Fagerberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Österlund in the 59th minute of play forced Härnösand's goalkeeper Roy Blomquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Sverker Löfgren sped through Österbybruk IF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Andréas Stenberg. After a defensive mix-up in Härnösand's zone, Billy Österlund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roy Blomquist came out of the goal and Billy Österlund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Billy Österlund took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Roy Blomquist to make any attempt to save it.
