Spectators: 6654 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1654, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Petter Ivarsson started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Wictor Samuelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Sancho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidro Sancho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Ove Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute Wictor Samuelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Sancho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Hammenhög IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Wictor Samuelsson came free, but Isidro Sancho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidro Sancho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Villiam Lundin went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The tension between the VfL Wolfsburg and the Hammenhög IFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes VfL Wolfsburg got a freekick which was hit by Leonard Larsson. In the 30th minute Villiam Lundin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Sancho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaj Jansson kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 38th minute of the match Jochem Bergmeester shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Isidro Sancho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kaj Jansson during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 46 played minutes Hammenhög IFK got a freekick which was hit by Bernt Alberg. Wictor Samuelsson missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 49 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Isidro Sancho right hand side. After the first half VfL Wolfsburg were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Isidro Sancho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Ove Carlsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Villiam Lundin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kaj Jansson hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute, Bo-Erik Melander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st match minute, Hammenhög IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaj Jansson to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Wictor Samuelsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isidro Sancho was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. If Wictor Samuelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Hammenhög IFK's goalkeeper Isidro Sancho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wictor Samuelsson. Sture Blixt's late challenge caught a VfL Wolfsburg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sture Blixt helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of VfL Wolfsburg booed when Hammenhög IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo-Erik Melander didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over VfL Wolfsburg could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hammenhög IFK throughout the match.
