The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Magnus Rosendahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Jan Apelquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magnus Rosendahl in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edvin Bergkvist to make the kick off. After taking down the ball on Röstånga's corner Ove Lindström fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sakarias Andersson quite easily take care of the ball. Jan Apelquist was a little too slow when Magnus Rosendahl got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 1-4. The Hovås IFK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hovås IFK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
