The crowd rose to their feet as fido's Karl Ekström slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristi Nediu. That made the score 2-0 after 44 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karl Ekström to strike the kick off in the second half. Torgny Liljeström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Torgny Liljeström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rico Durango in the 80th minute of the match. If Karl Ekström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to fido getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Åke Grep hit a great ball. Arne Almqvist's late challenge caught a fido's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arne Almqvist helped the player get up and apologised. Arne Almqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The fido fans cheered their team off the field, for while Örgryte IS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
