The supporters of GSBK booed when Örgryte IS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Näver didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, GSBK's Reine Kaxe got control of the ball when Arne Almqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arne Almqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Reine Kaxe made a huge save. After 23 played minutes GSBK got a freekick which was hit by Dick Jönsson. A hard shot 24 in the game by Arne Almqvist from a close distance when the talented Reine Kaxe managed to make a qualified save. GSBK's players were relieved. If Sebastian Näver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reine Kaxe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rico Durango in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the game, Jonatan Lundin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GSBK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Örgryte IS the free kick. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rico Durango to strike the kick off in the second half. Rico Durango received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Reine Kaxe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rico Durango in the 58th minute of play forced GSBK's goalkeeper Reine Kaxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reine Kaxe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rico Durango in the 65th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in GSBK's zone, Arne Almqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reine Kaxe came out of the goal and Arne Almqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rico Durango in the 69th minute of play forced GSBK's goalkeeper Reine Kaxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jonatan Lundin came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the GSBK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonatan Lundin couldn't finish the play. Reine Kaxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rico Durango in the 80th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Sebastian Näver's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reine Kaxe was relentless in the 84th minute of the game.
