After 3 played minutes Gällö BF got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Vassenius. After 4 played minutes, Hakkas's Charles Waller shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Måns Westerberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hakkas reached it. If Ingvar Åhlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute Lennart Björklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Måns Westerberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennart Björklund in the 18th minute of play forced Gällö BF's goalkeeper Måns Westerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Gällö BF's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Björklund came free, but Måns Westerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Hakkas booed when Gällö BF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claes Norström didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 25 minutes, Ingvar Åhlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hakkas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingvar Åhlberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gällö BF's goalkeeper Måns Westerberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peder Odeen charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Peder Odeen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 28 played minutes Gällö BF got a freekick which was hit by Peder Odeen. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Gällö BF's goalkeeper Måns Westerberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Ingvar Åhlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jens-Erik Svensson kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Lennart Björklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lennart Björklund might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Måns Westerberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lennart Björklund ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lennart Björklund to make the kick off. If Lennart Björklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hakkas's Ingvar Åhlberg got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 68 played minutes Lennart Björklund rounded Gällö BF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. In the 76th minute, Jörn Haegg made a precise shot to the right of Alexander Lange. Hakkas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Jörn Haegg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Hakkas's Lennart Björklund ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Måns Westerberg. Måns Westerberg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Peder Odeen hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Charles Waller in the 97th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Måns Westerberg's left hand side. Hakkas played a much better game than Gällö BF and deserved their victory. The Gällö BF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
