The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, AIK DELUXE's Stig-Arne Håning got a free kick in the 2nd minute. In the 3rd minute Calle Jönsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Åman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Karl-Åke Godholm managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marieholm's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Åke Godholm was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stefan Åman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stig-Arne Håning struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Edwin Arvidsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AIK DELUXE. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graciano Pelle in the 13th minute of play forced Marieholm's goalkeeper Edwin Arvidsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Örjan Gustafsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marieholm's Edwin Arvidsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Jönsson in the 20th minute of play. If Stig-Arne Håning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Marieholm's zone, Örjan Gustafsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edwin Arvidsson came out of the goal and Örjan Gustafsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Karl Jönsson came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the AIK DELUXE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Jönsson couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marieholm's goalkeeper Edwin Arvidsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Karl-Magnus Skröder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Graciano Pelle in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edwin Arvidsson saved Marieholm from getting behind.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas Sefastsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Thomas Sefastsson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Stefan Åman skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Örjan Gustafsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Marieholm's goal looked a bit too open when Graciano Pelle came free, but Edwin Arvidsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marieholm succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though AIK DELUXE had controlled the match.
