The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sven Asserlind took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Arenstedt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Giliusson hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Askersund RK's Torbjörn Persson got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Börge Kleen hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Torbjörn Persson in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kjell-Arne Danielsson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Karl-Oskar Vennerberg kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Torbjörn Persson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bo Gustafsson kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Askersund RK's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Jansson came free, but Sven Asserlind reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 45 minutes, Bo Gustafsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tottenham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bo Gustafsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Torbjörn Persson took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kjell-Arne Danielsson. Kjell-Arne Danielsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Kjell-Arne Danielsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Dalström in the 63rd minute of the match. Tottenham's Kjell-Arne Danielsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Dalström in the 65th minute of play. When Marcus Jansson came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Tottenham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Jansson couldn't finish the play. In the 69th match minute, Askersund RK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viktor Ekeroth to maneuver through the defense. Herbert Hagberg hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Marcus Jansson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tottenham's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Jansson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven Asserlind breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 76 played minutes Askersund RK got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Hagberg. Kjell-Arne Danielsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Dalström, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute, Peter Giliusson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Askersund RK were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Tottenham's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Persson took the corner. Askersund RK's Axel Persson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kjell-Arne Danielsson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tottenham were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
