The audience was convinced that Per Fors's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arman Kilström was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. In the 19th minute, Birsel Ulum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Sebastian Lundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. Arman Kilström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yosif Saradzhov was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Pelle Soned struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Arman Kilström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Karl-Marx-Stadt. Yosif Saradzhov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arman Kilström having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastian Lundström was the one to do the kick off.
