William Björk hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. William Björk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Olof Fågel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingemar Gustavsson in the 7th minute of play. Marc Lindqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karl Sandwall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Björk, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 21 played minutes Piemonte Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Kjell-Arne Åman. Karl Sandwall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Lindqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, William Björk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Karl Sandwall. Soldiers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Björk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Karl Sandwall went to the wrong direction when Kjell-Arne Åman was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and William Björk made a kick off. Marc Lindqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Karl Sandwall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc Lindqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Soldiers FC booed when Piemonte Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uno Rolandsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Marc Lindqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piemonte Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Lindqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl Sandwall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Soldiers FC's Karl Sandwall got control of the ball when Marc Lindqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ingemar Gustavsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Olof Fågel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Stig-Åke Tham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olof Fågel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Piemonte Football Club's Marc Lindqvist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Karl Sandwall. That made the score 0-2 after 78 minutes of play. Stig-Åke Tham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Stig-Åke Tham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agne Grönlund charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agne Grönlund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stig-Åke Tham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olof Fågel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. The Soldiers FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Piemonte Football Club's performance. The match ended with a win for Piemonte Football Club.
