After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Joar Malm managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lidingö IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Joar Malm was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eric Bergström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alexander Bivall was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 8 minutes into the match. A collision led to Lidingö IK getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Alexander Bivall hit a great ball. Lidingö IK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Börje Ståhlman scored to the left of an out of position Börje Örtlund, making the score, 1-0. In the 14th match minute, Lidingö IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Kvist to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vilgot Kilman during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vilgot Kilman hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 18th minute of the game. One of Orresta IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lidingö IK:s goal. Eric Bergström came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Lidingö IK's Fausto Bibiano. But to his dismay, Fausto Bibiano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Börje Örtlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kasper Bjursell, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute Kasper Bjursell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Örtlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lidingö IK's Leif Björkkvist got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Kasper Bjursell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Börje Örtlund. Lidingö IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kasper Bjursell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 37th minute, Leif Björkkvist made a precise shot to the right of Eric Bergström. Orresta IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Börje Ståhlman in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Börje Örtlund, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Alexander Granström put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Lidingö IK a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Fausto Bibiano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Orresta IF's Eric Bergström. 2-4. Disappointed in the 2-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliott Mattsson in the 56th minute of play forced Lidingö IK's goalkeeper Börje Örtlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Börje Ståhlman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Börje Örtlund was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kasper Bjursell in the 60th minute of play forced Lidingö IK's goalkeeper Börje Örtlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orresta IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kasper Bjursell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leif Björkkvist struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Eric Bergström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lidingö IK. In the 70th minute, Joar Malm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kasper Bjursell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börje Örtlund having to interfere. Börje Örtlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börje Ståhlman, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Joar Malm recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eric Bergström. Joar Malm showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leif Björkkvist in the 94th minute of play forced Orresta IF's goalkeeper Eric Bergström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97thth minute of the game Börje Ståhlman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lidingö IK's Börje Örtlund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lidingö IK's Joakim Fanström got a good chance for a goal in the 100th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Lidingö IK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
