Olov Liljeström stood somewhat misplaced when Fausto Bibiano came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 15 minute. 18 minutes into the match, Lidingö IK's goal looked a bit too open when Börge Tunander came free, but Börje Örtlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Marcus Ström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spögubbens IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lidingö IK the free kick. The supporters of Lidingö IK booed when Spögubbens IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Ström didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd match minute, Spögubbens IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Ström to maneuver through the defense. Olov Liljeström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Bibiano in the 24th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Lidingö IK's goal looked a bit too open when Svante Olsson came free, but Börje Örtlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Spögubbens IF booed when Lidingö IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Kvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Lidingö IK fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Lidingö IK's Fausto Bibiano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Lidingö IK getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Alexander Bivall hit a great ball. Joakim Fanström scored 4-0 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Olov Liljeström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 44 minutes into the game, Joar Malm recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Olov Liljeström. Joar Malm showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fausto Bibiano to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Jakob Ahlroth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Spögubbens IF's Börje Örtlund threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Svante Olsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fausto Bibiano in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olov Liljeström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Börje Örtlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svante Olsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, one of Lidingö IK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lidingö IK. Fausto Bibiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 minutes of play, Lidingö IK's Leif Björkkvist made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leif Björkkvist in the 83rd minute of play forced Spögubbens IF's goalkeeper Olov Liljeström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lidingö IK's Vilgot Kilman suffered a concussion in the 84th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Rickard Stålberg's late challenge caught a Lidingö IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rickard Stålberg helped the player get up and apologised. Lidingö IK made a substitution. Alvin Uggstedt replaced Vilgot Kilman. Rickard Stålberg hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Fausto Bibiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Spögubbens IF's goalkeeper Olov Liljeström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Fausto Bibiano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olov Liljeström was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. Leif Björkkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Olov Liljeström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lidingö IK walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
