Spectators: 7074 (Terracing: 5414, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Roger Elg started the match with the kick off. Christer Hafström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kent Heggert having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Christer Hafström came free, but Kent Heggert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kent Heggert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Elg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christer Hafström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Kent Heggert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Sandsjöfors FK's Roger Elg in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hammarby IF's goalie prevented a goal. After 15 played minutes Hammarby IF got a freekick which was hit by Ulrik Torstensson. Sandsjöfors FK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Greger Jespersson in the 17th minute. After 20 played minutes Hammarby IF got a freekick which was hit by Jens Skräddare. Greger Jespersson, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sandsjöfors FK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! Jens Skräddare walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Christer Hafström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kent Heggert having to make a save. 30 minutes into the game, Ernst Mattsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sandsjöfors FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammarby IF the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sandsjöfors FK's Ernst Mattsson got a free kick in the 30th minute. Stellan Lindgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrik Johnsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Patrik Johnsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Dahlbom in the 35th minute of the match. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kent Dahlbom was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Hammarby IF booed when Sandsjöfors FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredric Beckeman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hammarby IF's Kent Heggert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Elg in the 56th minute of play. 59 minutes into the game, Kent Dahlbom cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Patrik Johnsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roger Elg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Hammarby IF's zone, Christer Hafström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kent Heggert came out of the goal and Christer Hafström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christer Hafströms short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Kent Heggert to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sandsjöfors FK's Roger Elg was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 82nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 87th minute, Sandsjöfors FK's Roger Elg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Sandsjöfors FK's Christer Hafström came free and shot a quick shot against goal 91 minutes in the game, fortunately Kent Heggert had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Kent Heggert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Elg in the 92nd minute of play. Roger Elg struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Kent Heggert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sandsjöfors FK. The Hammarby IF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sandsjöfors FK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
