In the 11th minute Stellan Högström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evert Fransson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Tierp IF's zone, Stellan Högström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evert Fransson came out of the goal and Stellan Högström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of IFK Luleå booed when Tierp IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredrik Dahlquist didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Adrian Carlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Henry Berglund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert Fransson having to interfere. Fredrik Dahlquist kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Evert Fransson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stellan Högström, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Henry Berglund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute, Fredrik Dahlquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stellan Högström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Evert Fransson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fredrik Dahlquist kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Evert Fransson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stellan Högström's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 45th minute of the match Urban Flinck sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evert Fransson skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Henry Berglund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IFK Luleå's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henry Berglund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Tierp IF's Evert Fransson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Tierp IF from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Tierp IF's Jan-Åke Kinnman got a free kick in the 58th minute. Tierp IF's Evert Fransson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Åke Dalström in the 60th minute of play. Stellan Högström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert Fransson having to interfere. If Thomas Tunberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tierp IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IFK Luleå the free kick. In the 92nd minute Max Larsson managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. After having played for 96 minutes, André Bäckström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tierp IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Bäckström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Tierp IF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. IFK Luleå were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
