Marc Wållander kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Craig Jones took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sture Björk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in IFK Katrineholm's zone, Sture Björk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Craig Jones came out of the goal and Sture Björk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, IFK Katrineholm's Casper Påk got a free kick in the 26th minute. Craig Jones stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sture Björk's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Craig Jones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Olof Lindqvist in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, IFK Katrineholm's goal looked a bit too open when Sture Björk came free, but Craig Jones reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Andy Kellberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulf Svanström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Attilio Tassotti made a huge save. Sundsbruk's Sture Björk managed to work through IFK Katrineholm's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Sture Björk dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sture Björk in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Craig Jones prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Craig Jones took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Kellberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sture Björk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Craig Jones tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Jan-Olof Lindqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Craig Jones. IFK Katrineholm's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jan-Olof Lindqvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Sture Björk struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Craig Jones didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sundsbruk. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Casper Påk to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, IFK Katrineholm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Jansson to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sture Björk got free with Craig Jones in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marc Kjellbom kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. With a little luck, IFK Katrineholm's Craig Jones got control of the ball when Sture Björk tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind IFK Katrineholm's goalkeeper Craig Jones, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andreas Jansson in the 68th minute of play forced Sundsbruk's goalkeeper Attilio Tassotti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sture Björk who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Craig Jones when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Zachariasz Literski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the game, IFK Katrineholm's Casper Påk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Attilio Tassotti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Sture Björk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 played minutes IFK Katrineholm got a freekick which was hit by Zachariasz Scigan. Craig Jones was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Zachariasz Literski. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Sture Björk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sundsbruk's supporters rose to their feet, but Sture Björk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Craig Jones breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sture Björk's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Craig Jones skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 92 minutes into the match, IFK Katrineholm's goalkeeper Craig Jones had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sture Björk.
