Österbymo IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Göteborg the free kick. The referee ignored Österbymo IFK's protests and gave Mathias Nässén a yellow card for diving instead. FC Göteborg's attentive Markus Hedkvist managed to snatch the ball when Hampus Beneth made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. Karl-Åke Kilström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Algot Tingberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Karl-Åke Kilström came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the FC Göteborg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Åke Kilström couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, FC Göteborg failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
