In the 5th minute, Billy Fors hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Ek in the 13th minute of play forced GT Team's goalkeeper Hjalmar Örnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Sonny Dahlman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vårgårda BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GT Team the free kick. After 17 played minutes Vårgårda BK got a freekick which was hit by Sonny Dahlman. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vårgårda BK's goalkeeper Fabian Sjöman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Emanuel Ek had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hjalmar Örnberg. GT Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emanuel Ek was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Andreas Smedfeldt kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Andreas Smedfeldt charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andreas Smedfeldt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, GT Team's Andreas Smedfeldt got a free kick in the 29th minute. Vårgårda BK's Henry Burman got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hjalmar Örnberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Burman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute Bengt-Arne Skog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Sjöman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Henry Burman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vårgårda BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Henry Burman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hjalmar Örnberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karl-Magnus Siggman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Emanuel Ek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hjalmar Örnberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Magnus Siggman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henry Burman took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hjalmar Örnberg. Hjalmar Örnberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Emanuel Ek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Hjalmar Örnberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miklós Bodrogi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Sjöman having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vårgårda BK's Dag Lund got a free kick in the 66th minute. GT Team's Hjalmar Örnberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dag Lund in the 71st minute of play. If Miklós Bodrogi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henry Burman got free with Hjalmar Örnberg in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jörgen Söderström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Hjalmar Örnberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 78 played minutes Vårgårda BK got a freekick which was hit by Sonny Dahlman. In the 79th match minute, Vårgårda BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sonny Dahlman to maneuver through the defense. Casper Hägert hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Emanuel Ek was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Vårgårda BK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Henry Burman struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Hjalmar Örnberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vårgårda BK. Hjalmar Örnberg made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Henry Burman sent off a good shot on target.
