After some careless play in the Ambjörby IF defense, Filipe Schmidt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tage Smedfeldt. The Ambjörby IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tage Smedfeldt should have stopped the shot. Lennart Magnusson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilbert Morat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernt Lundkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Lennart Magnusson made a huge save. If Gilbert Morat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernt Lundkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tage Smedfeldt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Erik Caspersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 38th minute, Kim Bagge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernt Lundkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Lennart Magnusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ambjörby IF's Tage Smedfeldt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Erik Caspersson in the 42nd minute of play. The Ambjörby IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. GRIFFONS were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilbert Morat was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Ambjörby IF getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Stig-Arne Almqvist hit a great ball. After some careless play in the GRIFFONS defense, Bernt Lundkvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lennart Magnusson. The GRIFFONS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lennart Magnusson should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the match, Ambjörby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Erik Caspersson came free, but Tage Smedfeldt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 played minutes GRIFFONS got a freekick which was hit by Gert Vinström. Gilbert Morat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Lennart Magnusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 69 minutes of play, Ambjörby IF's Gilbert Morat made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lennart Magnusson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lennart Magnusson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilbert Morat went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Tage Smedfeldt made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Sven-Erik Caspersson sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filipe Schmidt in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tage Smedfeldt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Gilbert Morat came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Ambjörby IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Morat couldn't finish the play.
