Spectators: 6660 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 0) Lecce's Hampus Björklund started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Adrian Ståhlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tord Henriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hampus Björklund, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hampus Björklund in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tord Henriksson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tord Henriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Ståhlberg in the 10th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Ståhlberg in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tord Henriksson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Lecce's Fabio Iacovone got control of the ball when Magne Kjellkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ove Larsfält hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Fabio Iacovone made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Inge Hansson sent off a good shot on target. Fabio Iacovone came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Göteborg City FF's Magne Kjellkvist. But to his dismay, Magne Kjellkvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 23rd minute Martin Holmgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Iacovone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Kurt Möller was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lecce's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Göteborg City FF the free kick. After 24 played minutes Lecce got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Möller. If Erik Harlén had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 29 minutes, Hampus Björklund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lecce's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hampus Björklund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lecce fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 31st minute. Penalty! After a defensive mix-up in Göteborg City FF's zone, Adrian Ståhlberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tord Henriksson came out of the goal and Adrian Ståhlberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evert Tholsson during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Evert Tholsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Göteborg City FF's Rickard Sjöberg pulled a muscle in his leg after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Evert Tholsson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 45 minutes had been played. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Magne Kjellkvist made the kick off in the second half. Magne Kjellkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the match, Lecce's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Lundberg came free, but Fabio Iacovone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th match minute, Lecce was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Möller to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Åke Hellström's late challenge caught a Göteborg City FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl-Åke Hellström helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Lecce's Karl-Åke Hellström got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute of the match Inge Hansson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabio Iacovone showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Göteborg City FF booed when Lecce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hampus Björklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inge Hansson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabio Iacovone having to make a save. In the 68th minute, Torbjörn Grubb hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adrian Ståhlberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Tord Henriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Magne Kjellkvist came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Göteborg City FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Magne Kjellkvist couldn't finish the play. Magne Kjellkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Iacovone having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrian Ståhlberg got free with Tord Henriksson in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Lecce defense, Magne Kjellkvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabio Iacovone. The Lecce fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Iacovone should have stopped the shot. Magne Kjellkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabio Iacovone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Göteborg City FF were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lecce for a fine match.
