With his leg Olof Palmquist managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when kalmarff's Sven Mattsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 16th minute, Edvaldo Oliveira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Olof Palmquist, passed just outside the right post. 19 minutes into the match, Real Malmö FF's goalkeeper Olof Palmquist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sven Mattsson. Edvaldo Oliveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Olof Palmquist made a huge save. The supporters of kalmarff booed when Real Malmö FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carl Bergren didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rickard Hääger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edvaldo Oliveira got free with Olof Palmquist in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the game, Real Malmö FF's Kjell Låsberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Greger Sundling made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Jonatan Pilgren kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Edvaldo Oliveira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Olof Palmquist skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Carl Bergren's late challenge caught a kalmarff's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carl Bergren helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th minute, kalmarff's Sven Mattsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Olof Palmquist. Olof Palmquist yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Staffan Bagge in the 41st minute of play forced Real Malmö FF's goalkeeper Olof Palmquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olof Palmquist made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Edvaldo Oliveira sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute Kjell Låsberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greger Sundling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 played minutes kalmarff got a freekick which was hit by Nils-Åke Billock. 47 minutes into the match, kalmarff's goal looked a bit too open when Hjalmar Finman came free, but Greger Sundling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kjell Låsberg to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Rickard Hääger notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Real Malmö FF's Olof Palmquist. Olof Palmquist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvaldo Oliveira in the 60th minute of play forced Real Malmö FF's goalkeeper Olof Palmquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Staffan Bagge struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Olof Palmquist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for kalmarff. 70 minutes into the match, kalmarff's goalkeeper Greger Sundling had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lennart Ersman. Olof Palmquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Staffan Bagge in the 71st minute of the match. Anton Sävström hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Edvaldo Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olof Palmquist having to interfere. After 86 played minutes Real Malmö FF got a freekick which was hit by Kjell Låsberg. There was no doubt that kalmarff were the better team. kalmarff's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
