Rutger Ekeberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Lindholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Harald Pålsson's late challenge caught a Grythyttan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harald Pålsson helped the player get up and apologised. After 7 played minutes Ljung IFK got a freekick which was hit by Harald Pålsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tage Bodin in the 11th minute of play forced Ljung IFK's goalkeeper Leon Siwy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elias Bengtsson struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Rutger Ekeberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ljung IFK. Ljung IFK's Leon Siwy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Odman in the 19th minute of play. With a little luck, Grythyttan's Rutger Ekeberg got control of the ball when Elias Bengtsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Ljung IFK booed when Grythyttan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulf Blomqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grythyttan's Rutger Ekeberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludvig Gustavsson in the 30th minute of play. After 33 played minutes Grythyttan got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Åke Molander. Elias Bengtsson made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 33rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Rutger Ekeberg would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Elias Bengtsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rutger Ekeberg having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Ulf Blomqvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grythyttan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ljung IFK the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Grythyttan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulf Blomqvist to maneuver through the defense. Leon Siwy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tage Bodin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Odman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th match minute, Ljung IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harald Pålsson to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elias Bengtsson made a kick off. John Lundberg's late challenge caught a Ljung IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elias Bengtsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rutger Ekeberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute Ludvig Gustavsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rutger Ekeberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stig-Åke Molander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Leon Siwy made a huge save. Elias Bengtsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rutger Ekeberg having to interfere. Ljung IFK's Vincent Lindholm got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Elias Bengtsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ljung IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Bengtsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rutger Ekeberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Ljung IFK's Vincent Lindholm got a free kick in the 65th minute. Leon Siwy made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Jan Odman sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th play minute Stig-Åke Molander came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Leon Siwy. 1-1. Leon Siwy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tage Bodin in the 73rd minute of the match. Elias Bengtsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the game, Ljung IFK's Vincent Lindholm nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rutger Ekeberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elias Bengtsson in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rutger Ekeberg saved Grythyttan from getting behind. In the 81st minute of the match, Jan Odman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Leon Siwy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Harald Pålsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Rutger Ekeberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Bengtsson in the 90th minute of play forced Grythyttan's goalkeeper Rutger Ekeberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 91 played minutes Grythyttan got a freekick which was hit by Ulf Blomqvist. Ljung IFK's Leon Siwy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Ljung IFK from getting a goal against them. Leon Siwy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stig-Åke Molander in the 94th minute. Ljung IFK walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
