Christopher Duset scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Stolpe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Johanneshov's Göran Christoffersson in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience was convinced that Gottfrid Nyman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jörgen Pettersson was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 24th minute, Douglas Kalfhage reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jörgen Pettersson. The goal made the score 2-2. In the 29th minute Johan Carlsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Stolpe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Göran Christoffersson made a kick off. When Gottfrid Nyman came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Vimmerby IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gottfrid Nyman couldn't finish the play. Johan Carlsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 62nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Martin Stolpe could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Douglas Kalfhage managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vimmerby IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Douglas Kalfhage was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jörgen Pettersson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Johanneshov would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
