An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Amaral in the 5th minute of play forced Assyrian's goalkeeper Carl Albäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute of the match Manchester United FC got a corner. Assyrian's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ove Vestlund ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Ove Vestlund got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carl Albäck quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Franklin Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mark Mogren was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 11 minutes into the match. Ove Vestlund shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Carl Albäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franklin Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Assyrian's Patric Tinglöf got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 21st play minute Marius Multeanu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Carl Albäck. 1-0. Marius Multeanu took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carl Albäck. Carl Albäck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 29 minutes into the match, Assyrian's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Amaral came free, but Carl Albäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carl Albäck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boris Hedlund's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. After 31st play minutes Franklin Amaral shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Carl Albäck and just under the crossbar into goal. Franklin Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Carl Albäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niklas Tingelholm's late challenge caught a Assyrian's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niklas Tingelholm helped the player get up and apologised. Niklas Tingelholm hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. If Franklin Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marius Multeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

A collision led to Manchester United FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ove Vestlund hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Marius Multeanu notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Assyrian's Carl Albäck. Carl Albäck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 63rd minute, Kenny Engström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Assyrian's goal looked a bit too open when Marius Multeanu came free, but Carl Albäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Viktor Blomberg fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Assyrian's protests and gave Viktor Blomberg a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Marius Multeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marius Multeanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carl Albäck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marius Multeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Albäck having to interfere. Franklin Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carl Albäck having to make a save. 79 minutes into the game, Manchester United FC's Marius Multeanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carl Albäck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. In the 82nd minute, Marius Multeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marius Multeanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carl Albäck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Carl Albäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franklin Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Manchester United FC fully deserved thier win.
