Henning Hedman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Birger Alkvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After 20 minutes, Marin Lera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AIK Stockholm and the Dalkurd FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marin Lera kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Mikael Samuelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Rumberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Mikael Samuelsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Igor Rumberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 26 played minutes AIK Stockholm got a freekick which was hit by Marin Lera. Birger Alkvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andréas Pååk went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Birger Alkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Åkesson in the 38th minute of the match. Mark Åkesson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Birger Alkvist made a huge save. In the 45th minute Evert Ekrot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Rumberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 minutes of play, Dalkurd FF's Evert Ekrot made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Igor Rumberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

55 minutes into the match, Dalkurd FF's goal looked a bit too open when Niklas Tholsson came free, but Birger Alkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Helge Andersson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Igor Rumberg made a huge save. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Marin Lera sped through Dalkurd FF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Birger Alkvist. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Marin Lera put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Birger Alkvist. After 69 minutes of play, AIK Stockholm's Marin Lera made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Birger Alkvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! 72 minutes into the match, Dalkurd FF's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Åkesson came free, but Birger Alkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AIK Stockholm's Marin Lera got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Igor Rumberg came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Dalkurd FF's Helge Andersson. But to his dismay, Helge Andersson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. Birger Alkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Åkesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. AIK Stockholm were awarded a corner in the 94th minute after Dalkurd FF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Henning Hedman took the corner. The corner led AIK Stockholm's Marin Lera to fire away a dangerous shot which Birger Alkvist despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Birger Alkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niklas Tholsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. AIK Stockholm had won after a very even match.
