Jarl Bergkvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sven-Edvin Petersson scored 0-2 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jarl Bergkvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leif Ahlén made in the 11th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Arsenal roovers's Jan Haraldsson. 15 minutes into the match, Sven-Edvin Petersson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jarl Bergkvist. Arsenal roovers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sven-Edvin Petersson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Tim Kjellberg hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Jarl Bergkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agne Jespersson in the 19th minute of play. Sixten Byström kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. A hard shot 25 in the game by Niclas Vennerström from a close distance when the talented John Dahlgren managed to make a qualified save. Väse RK's players were relieved. 27 minutes into the match, Väse RK's Agne Jespersson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jarl Bergkvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Arsenal roovers getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Leif Stabbe hit a great ball. Kent Billock was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 28th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jarl Bergkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Petersson in the 30th minute of the match. Niclas Vennerström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John Dahlgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Agne Jespersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes Arsenal roovers got a freekick which was hit by Alvin Hammarbäck. In the 46th minute Sven-Edvin Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarl Bergkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Agne Jespersson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Väse RK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. The Arsenal roovers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Väse RK were winning 0-5.

Jarl Bergkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agne Jespersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After 58 played minutes Arsenal roovers got a freekick which was hit by Alvin Hammarbäck. Agne Jespersson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jarl Bergkvist having to make a save. 0-7 became the score in the 63rd minute when Agne Jespersson elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, Arsenal roovers's goalkeeper Jarl Bergkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sven-Edvin Petersson. After some careless play in the Arsenal roovers defense, Sven-Edvin Petersson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jarl Bergkvist. The Arsenal roovers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jarl Bergkvist should have stopped the shot. Jarl Bergkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agne Jespersson in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Sven-Edvin Petersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Agne Jespersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jarl Bergkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arsenal roovers's Jarl Bergkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agne Jespersson in the 90th minute of play. Agne Jespersson was extremely unlucky when he, in the 94th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Agne Jespersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
