The audience was convinced that Aison Angelis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sune Dalberg was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Arjan Hesseling got in the 28th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Claes Bjursell handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 29th play minute Ivar Johnsson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sune Dalberg. 1-1. Vanicia cf's Claes Bjursell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arjan Hesseling in the 42nd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
