Joachim Löv fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronny Bruhn having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Pål Telin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronny Bruhn was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pål Telin in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronny Bruhn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per-Olof Smefeldt couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the game, Pål Telin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Ronny Bruhn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pål Telin was the one to do the kick off. Mark Lägdin took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mikael Bergren. Mikael Bergren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Robert Lundhberg hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Per-Olof Smefeldt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ronny Bruhn. That made the score 2-3 in the 61 minute of play. Robert Lundhberg charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robert Lundhberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 68th match minute, Hovmantorp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Lundhberg to maneuver through the defense. Arman Uggla kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 92ndth minute of the game Pål Telin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hovmantorp's Ronny Bruhn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pål Telin had several of the Hovmantorp's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 93 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-4 score and a disappointed Ronny Bruhn as he didn't even see the shot coming.
