Vänersborg's players were relieved. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vänersborg's goalkeeper Sigvard Hagström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Vänersborg's Sigvard Hagström got control of the ball when Allan Ek tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Torekov RK fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Torekov RK's Bernt Martinsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 25th minute, Göran Österlund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Torekov RK's Bernt Martinsson in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vänersborg's goalkeeper Sigvard Hagström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Bernt Martinsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torekov RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernt Martinsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sigvard Hagström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Sigfridsson in the 47th minute of play forced Torekov RK's goalkeeper Jimmy Kruuse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernt Martinsson to make the kick off. If Allan Ek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Göran Österlund charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Göran Österlund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Torekov RK booed when Vänersborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Göran Österlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Ek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Torsten Vibjörnsson hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Jimmy Kruuse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henning Bengtsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Bernt Martinsson sped through Vänersborg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sigvard Hagström. Jimmy Kruuse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henning Bengtsson in the 89th minute of play. After 91 played minutes Vänersborg got a freekick which was hit by Göran Österlund. Sigvard Hagström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Ek in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Göran Österlund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Torekov RK were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Vänersborg for a fine match.
