Spectators: 7229 (Terracing: 5423, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Matthias Norberg got the match started through his kick off. When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Max Ekström put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Herman Hellqvist. Herman Hellqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Max Ekström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 8 minutes, Isaac Samuelsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malmö ff and the Exeter city players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 9 played minutes Malmö ff got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Samuelsson. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Max Ekström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Exeter city's supporters rose to their feet, but Max Ekström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Herman Hellqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 13 minutes into the game, Malmö ff's Isaac Samuelsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Billy Vallander made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 16th minute, Evert Ståhlman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Billy Vallander made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Jimmy Hernström sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jimmy Hernström got free with Billy Vallander in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Jimmy Hernström kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Billy Vallander. That made the score 2-1 in the 27 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Max Ekström to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Exeter city's Nils-Erik Carlsson got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 69th minute Isaac Samuelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Billy Vallander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Boris Andersson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Billy Vallander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthias Norberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Exeter city's Max Ekström pulled a muscle in his leg after 81 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 82 minutes, Per-Erik Jernberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malmö ff and the Exeter city players grew even worse after the yellow card. Exeter city's Johnny Pilberg was substituted for Max Ekström. In the 83rd minute, Per-Erik Jernberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnny Pilberg got free with Herman Hellqvist in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Evert Ståhlman scored 4-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Billy Vallander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Malmö ff's Herman Hellqvist got control of the ball when Johnny Pilberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Malmö ff players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
