Karl-Johan Vassenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pål Högberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Karl-Johan Vassenius came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Mellansel's Pål Högberg. But to his dismay, Pål Högberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Pål Högberg struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Karl-Johan Vassenius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mellansel. Georg Skålberg charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Georg Skålberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of FC Nimo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mellansel:s goal. If Calle Palmquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mellansel's Jan-Ove Pettersson got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pål Högberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karl-Johan Vassenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Jönsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Pål Högberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in FC Nimo's zone, Olof Falkrans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Johan Vassenius came out of the goal and Olof Falkrans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pål Högberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Karl-Johan Vassenius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Calle Palmquist to make the kick off. If Calle Palmquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olof Falkrans was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. Mellansel's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 67 minutes into the match, FC Nimo's goalkeeper Karl-Johan Vassenius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pål Högberg. In the 74th minute Olof Falkrans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Johan Vassenius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Nimo's Karl-Johan Vassenius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olof Falkrans in the 77th minute of play. Karl-Johan Vassenius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olof Falkrans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivar Jönsson got free with Karl-Johan Vassenius in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karl-Johan Vassenius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olof Falkrans in the 81st minute of the match. Olof Falkrans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Nimo's Karl-Johan Vassenius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olof Falkrans in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Mellansel's Pål Högberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl-Johan Vassenius narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Olof Falkrans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Calle Palmquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute, Olof Falkrans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mellansel played a much better game than FC Nimo and deserved their victory. The FC Nimo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
