Spectators: 7078 (Terracing: 5409, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 12) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ralf Löfkvist took the kick off in the first half of the match. Tommy Häll's late challenge caught a Valskog IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tommy Häll helped the player get up and apologised. After 3 played minutes Ik Brage got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Häll. When Valskog IK's David Mattsson in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ik Brage's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Ik Brage booed when Valskog IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustav Alefors didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt-Åke Kinnman kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. If David Mattsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Arne Forssberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustav Alefors, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Sven-Arne Forssberg came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Valskog IK's David Mattsson. But to his dismay, David Mattsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Algot Håkansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sven-Arne Forssberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute Gustav Alefors shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Arne Forssberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gustav Alefors came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Valskog IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustav Alefors couldn't finish the play. Sven-Arne Forssberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Mattsson's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. After 28 played minutes Ik Brage got a freekick which was hit by Bengt-Åke Kinnman. David Mattsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Arne Forssberg having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ik Brage's Alvin Stolpe got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Ik Brage's Sven-Arne Forssberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Mattsson in the 34th minute of play. A hard, long distance shot from Gustav Alefors flew over the goal. Bertil Lennartsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Sven-Arne Forssberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valskog IK's Klas Björkdal got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Mattsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Casper Odman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralf Löfkvist in the 52nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ik Brage's zone, Gustav Alefors stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Arne Forssberg came out of the goal and Gustav Alefors tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sven-Arne Forssberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Mattsson in the 55th minute of play. After 58 played minutes Ik Brage got a freekick which was hit by Bengt-Åke Kinnman. David Mattsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Sven-Arne Forssberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustav Alefors fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Arne Forssberg having to interfere. After having played for 67 minutes, Bertil Lennartsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valskog IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bertil Lennartsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Mattsson struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Sven-Arne Forssberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valskog IK. Bertil Lennartsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Arne Forssberg having to interfere. Algot Håkansson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sven-Arne Forssberg having to make a save. In the 77th minute, Gustav Alefors reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sven-Arne Forssberg. The goal made the score 0-2. Algot Håkansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Klas Björkdal got free with Sven-Arne Forssberg in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 90th minute, David Mattsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valskog IK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
