Spectators: 6666 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1651, VIP seats: 15) Vallda's Melker Alfors started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, IFK United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christopher Söderman to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Melker Alfors sped through IFK United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dick Löfkvist. Åke Östman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Conny Stålberg in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute of the match, Conny Stålberg got a very nice opportunity to score, but Åke Östman was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Vallda's Bernt Alegren got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute Vilgot Forss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Åke Östman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Åke Östman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Conny Stålberg in the 20th minute. Joseph Blomberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Åke Östman having to interfere. When Jörgen Qvalfeldt fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored IFK United's protests and gave Jörgen Qvalfeldt a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Vallda booed when IFK United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörgen Qvalfeldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Vallda's Bernt Alegren in action when he in the 31st minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After a defensive mix-up in IFK United's zone, Melker Alfors stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dick Löfkvist came out of the goal and Melker Alfors tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 35 played minutes IFK United got a freekick which was hit by Conny Stålberg. 38 minutes into the game, Vallda's Melker Alfors nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dick Löfkvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Vallda's Melker Alfors got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Vilgot Forss made the kick off in the second half. Melker Alfors sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Vallda getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Inge Lindström hit a great ball. After 62 played minutes, IFK United's Jörgen Qvalfeldt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Åke Östman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in IFK United reached it. Inge Lindström kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, IFK United's Fred Strömberg tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, IFK United's goalkeeper Dick Löfkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Melker Alfors. After a rather tough play, Vallda's Bernt Alegren got a free kick in the 68th minute. Dick Löfkvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Melker Alfors went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. IFK United's Dick Löfkvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save IFK United from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Jens-Erik Andersson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vallda's supporters rose to their feet, but Jens-Erik Andersson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dick Löfkvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 78 minutes into the match, IFK United's goalkeeper Dick Löfkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jens-Erik Andersson. Dick Löfkvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Melker Alfors in the 80th minute. Alfons Hägg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dick Löfkvist having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Melker Alfors managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vallda's supporters rose to their feet, but Melker Alfors was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dick Löfkvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle sounded Vallda left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than IFK United.
