Spectators: 7073 (Terracing: 5409, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 7) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Pelle Björklund started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes, Allan Hurtig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gargnäs and the Växjö Rhinoceros IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, Gargnäs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Hurtig to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the game, Orvar Hultman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gargnäs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Växjö Rhinoceros IF the free kick. In the 7th match minute, Gargnäs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orvar Hultman to maneuver through the defense. Alex Holmstedt hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After 11 played minutes Gargnäs got a freekick which was hit by Allan Hurtig. 14 minutes into the game, Växjö Rhinoceros IF's Vilgot Öfverman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aron Bank made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Gargnäs's Aron Bank played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddie Asklöv in the 18th minute of play. In the 24th match minute, Växjö Rhinoceros IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gösta Lundblad to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute, Dan Nyström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 29 minutes, Vilgot Öfverman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Växjö Rhinoceros IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vilgot Öfverman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Freddie Asklöv managed to get in a good position for a shot. Växjö Rhinoceros IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddie Asklöv was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aron Bank breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Freddie Asklöv in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aron Bank saved Gargnäs from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddie Asklöv in the 35th minute of play forced Gargnäs's goalkeeper Aron Bank to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vilgot Öfverman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aron Bank having to interfere. Aron Bank took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herbert Bergstedt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Freddie Asklöv stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Freddie Asklöv had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie Asklöv recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vilgot Öfverman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vilgot Öfverman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aron Bank made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Freddie Asklöv sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Freddie Asklöv got free with Aron Bank in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Vilgot Öfverman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Växjö Rhinoceros IF booed when Gargnäs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Hamnberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Freddie Asklöv in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aron Bank, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 76 minutes into the match, Gargnäs's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Asklöv came free, but Aron Bank reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Växjö Rhinoceros IF's Sivert Holmberg got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Gargnäs's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Asklöv came free, but Aron Bank reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Växjö Rhinoceros IF booed when Gargnäs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Hamnberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sivert Holmberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Aron Bank tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Vilgot Öfverman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aron Bank was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herbert Bergstedt during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Växjö Rhinoceros IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Bergstedt to maneuver through the defense. Pelle Björklund struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Karl Kilstedt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gargnäs. Växjö Rhinoceros IF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
