The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Viktor Vallin hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Jon Ambjörnsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hieronim Rzentkowski's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Nybro's goal looked a bit too open when Hieronim Rzentkowski came free, but Jon Ambjörnsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Hammarby IF getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Hieronim Rzentkowski hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hieronim Rzentkowski during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Gilbert Johansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jon Ambjörnsson was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Patrick Strömbom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Vassenius in the 59th minute of play. When Folke Springfält came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Nybro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Folke Springfält couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Nybro's goalkeeper Jon Ambjörnsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Emanuel Vassenius came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Nybro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Vassenius couldn't finish the play. Hammarby IF's Hieronim Rzentkowski got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Hammarby IF's Hieronim Rzentkowski in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nybro's goalie prevented a goal. Hammarby IF played a much better game than Nybro and deserved their victory. The Nybro players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
