Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Skoghall's Erik Skålberg started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Skoghall booed when El Jefe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Håkan Johnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thomas Frykberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Jimmy Galle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Isak Gustafsson fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Jefe's protests and gave Isak Gustafsson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to El Jefe getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Håkan Johnsson hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, El Jefe's goalkeeper Walter Apelquist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oskar Jakobsson. In the 13th minute, Håkan Johnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, El Jefe's Walter Apelquist got control of the ball when Peder Melberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jimmy Galle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rune Hagberg's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute, El Jefe's Isak Gustafsson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Isak Gustafsson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of El Jefe protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Isak Gustafsson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of El Jefe:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Skoghall:s goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Erik Skålberg kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Walter Apelquist. That made the score 2-0 in the 34 minute of play. Håkan Johnsson hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. When Thomas Pihl came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Skoghall fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Pihl couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Skoghall's zone, Thomas Frykberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimmy Galle came out of the goal and Thomas Frykberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rune Hagberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rune Hagberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Galle having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Skoghall got a freekick which was hit by Oskar Jakobsson. If Erik Skålberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Rune Hagberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, El Jefe's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Skålberg came free, but Walter Apelquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 71 minutes of play, El Jefe's Rune Hagberg made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jimmy Galle was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jan-Ove Björklund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jimmy Galle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Jan-Ove Björklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Galle having to interfere. Jimmy Galle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rune Hagberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the match, Erik Skålberg notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of El Jefe's Walter Apelquist. Walter Apelquist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 93 minutes, Oskar Jakobsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skoghall's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oskar Jakobsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Skoghall support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
