The supporters of Come On You Gunners booed when Åstol IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens-Ola Sigfridsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 9 minutes, William Västerstrand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Come On You Gunners's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Västerstrand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gert Anundsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikael Edström, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 16th minute, Leonardo Björkkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mikael Edström scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gert Anundsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Robin Vestlund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Alfred Wickander made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikael Edström in the 25th minute of play forced Åstol IF's goalkeeper Gert Anundsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Jens-Ola Sigfridsson made the kick off in the second half. William Västerstrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gert Anundsson having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sören Blomqvist in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gert Anundsson saved Åstol IF from getting behind. Leonardo Björkkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Gert Anundsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. William Västerstrand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gert Anundsson stood somewhat misplaced when Sören Blomqvist came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 65 minute. In the 68th minute, Per Beckman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Åstol IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bo Josefsson during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 71 played minutes Åstol IF got a freekick which was hit by Bo Josefsson. Sören Blomqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Come On You Gunners's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
