The referee ignored Rotenur 2's protests and gave Bertil Kilman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd minute, one of Rotenur 2:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rotenur 2. In the 4th minute there was a penalty for Leijon IF. Gert Jonsson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Torgny Sundén. 1-0. Gilbert Mikaelsson came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Rotenur 2's Aron Hermansson. But to his dismay, Aron Hermansson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andréas Hellström in the 13th minute of play forced Rotenur 2's goalkeeper Torgny Sundén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Andréas Hellström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilbert Mikaelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aron Hermansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Rotenur 2 fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Rotenur 2's Aron Hermansson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Karl-Johan Qvalfeldt hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. If Aron Hermansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javier Zanetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aron Hermansson might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilbert Mikaelsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aron Hermansson ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Aron Hermansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilbert Mikaelsson was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. In the 48thth minute of the game Aron Hermansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leijon IF's Gilbert Mikaelsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andréas Hellström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 58 minutes of play, Leijon IF's Andréas Hellström made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Torgny Sundén was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilbert Mikaelsson didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 65th minute, which inside left pole to 2-4. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 2-6 when Aron Hermansson sped through Leijon IF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilbert Mikaelsson. Leijon IF's Gilbert Mikaelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aron Hermansson in the 80th minute of play. If Aron Hermansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aron Hermansson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Gilbert Mikaelsson made a huge save. Javier Zanetti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Mikaelsson having to interfere. After 97 played minutes, Leijon IF's Gert Jonsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Torgny Sundén came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leijon IF reached it. The Leijon IF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rotenur 2 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
