In the 9th minute Richard Lövgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonatan Fransson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Erasmo Alcaraz came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Wigan Athletic F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasmo Alcaraz couldn't finish the play. Wigan Athletic F.C.'s Nils Dahlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Utter in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Richard Lövgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Richard Lövgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonatan Fransson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Helge Snell's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erasmo Alcaraz in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonatan Fransson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erasmo Alcaraz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nils Dahlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isac Olsson in the 52nd minute of the match. After 52 played minutes Wigan Athletic F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Evert Lindberg. The audience was convinced that Richard Lövgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonatan Fransson was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Erasmo Alcaraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonatan Fransson having to interfere. Jonatan Fransson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Alcaraz in the 60th minute of the match. A wasted opportunity for Wigan Athletic F.C.. 73 minutes into the game, one of Wigan Athletic F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Nils Dahlberg had in the 75thth minute some difficulties stopping Sven Classon's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Jan-Åke Gallin came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Hästveda BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan-Åke Gallin couldn't finish the play. Nils Dahlberg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. After 97 minutes of play, Hästveda BF's Åke Utter made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nils Dahlberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
