Joakim Viklund came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Hamburgsund IFK's Alişan Direnç. But to his dismay, Alişan Direnç quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 13 minutes into the game, Joar Mattsson threw the ball into play from the sideline. AIK Stockholm's Bengt-Åke Kihlman quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 19th match minute, Hamburgsund IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tage Arvidsson to maneuver through the defense. Alfred Holmstedt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alvar Deckbergh. Hamburgsund IFK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Joakim Viklund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingvar Åberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Håkan Skytt during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Håkan Skytt hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alvar Deckbergh, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ingvar Åberg hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Alvar Deckbergh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Holmstedt in the 42nd minute of play. Tage Arvidsson kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After 47 played minutes Hamburgsund IFK got a freekick which was hit by Axel Vibjörnsson. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Alişan Direnç got free with Joakim Viklund in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Hamburgsund IFK's Froilan Dei got a free kick in the 90th minute. The AIK Stockholm supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Hamburgsund IFK's performance. The match ended with a win for Hamburgsund IFK.
