Örjan Lindgren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mariestad RK's Elliott Berg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Mariestad RK from getting a goal against them. If Hampus Winström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otto Cane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Örjan Lindgren having to interfere. When Jens Örtendal fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hallands Riviera's protests and gave Jens Örtendal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th match minute, Hallands Riviera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens Örtendal to maneuver through the defense. After 21 minutes, Jesper Bengtsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hallands Riviera and the Mariestad RK players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hallands Riviera getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Jesper Bengtsson hit a great ball. Gunnar Alströmer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Örjan Lindgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hallands Riviera's Bror Duset in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mariestad RK's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Hallands Riviera getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Paulo Maldini hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Hallands Riviera's Alf Molin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Elliott Berg. That made the score 1-1 after 33 minutes of play. Hampus Winström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Örjan Lindgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hampus Winström in the 38th minute of play. If Alf Molin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jakob Telin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 41 minutes into the match. Elliott Berg had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Ingvar Beneth's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Elliott Berg made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Hans Söderström sent off a good shot on target. When Bror Duset fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hallands Riviera's protests and gave Bror Duset a yellow card for diving instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Otto Cane to strike the kick off in the second half. Hallands Riviera's Örjan Lindgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otto Cane in the 53rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Otto Cane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mariestad RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Otto Cane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Örjan Lindgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 57 played minutes Hallands Riviera got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Beneth. In the 63rd minute Bror Duset shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elliott Berg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariestad RK's Otto Cane got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ingvar Beneth's late challenge caught a Mariestad RK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ingvar Beneth helped the player get up and apologised. Ingvar Beneth kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Alf Molin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hallands Riviera fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. In the 82nd minute Otto Cane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Örjan Lindgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alf Molin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elliott Berg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bror Duset in the 91st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mariestad RK's Ulf Dahlbom got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Otto Cane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Örjan Lindgren having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mariestad RK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
