Jonatan Ferm charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonatan Ferm the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonatan Ferm hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Jon Gustafsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimmy Deckbergh in the 8th minute of the match. After having played for 14 minutes, Knut Thidén managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malmö FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Knut Thidén was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 17 minutes of play, Malmö FF's Knut Thidén made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gert Nordström was left in no man's land by his defense there! 21 minutes into the game, Jimmy Deckbergh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ängelholm's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malmö FF the free kick. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ängelholm! In the 23rd minute there was a penalty for Malmö FF. Andy Pettersson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gert Nordström. 0-2. The Malmö FF fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Malmö FF's Alexander Larsfelt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 30th minute, Knut Thidén made a precise shot to the right of Gert Nordström. Ängelholm's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Ängelholm's zone, Knut Thidén stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gert Nordström came out of the goal and Knut Thidén tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tord Dahlberg during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Malmö FF booed when Ängelholm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tord Dahlberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andy Pettersson struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Gert Nordström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malmö FF. Gert Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Knut Thidén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 41 minutes, Andy Pettersson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malmö FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Pettersson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andy Pettersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gert Nordström having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Joacim Brogren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ängelholm's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malmö FF the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ängelholm's Joacim Brogren got a free kick in the 46th minute. Gert Nordström came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Malmö FF's Jonatan Ferm. But to his dismay, Jonatan Ferm quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rune Fredriksson to strike the kick off in the second half. Knut Thidén could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Gert Nordström made a huge save. Bo Ahlqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gert Nordström having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Ängelholm's goalkeeper Gert Nordström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Knut Thidén. Gert Nordström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexander Larsfelt's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute, Malmö FF's Sixten Tingelholm ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gert Nordström. Gert Nordström yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. Rune Fredriksson took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jon Gustafsson. Jon Gustafsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Andy Pettersson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malmö FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Pettersson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gert Nordström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Knut Thidén got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Sixten Tingelholm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ängelholm's goalkeeper Gert Nordström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 90th match minute, Ängelholm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tord Dahlberg to maneuver through the defense. Andy Pettersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gert Nordström having to interfere. Andy Pettersson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gert Nordström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Ivan Flink blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jon Gustafsson having to make a save. The Ängelholm fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Malmö FF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
