In the 14th minute, Bernt Täman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, AIK's Kent Wallin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Leo Arhenius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. John Kalfhage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Gunnar Qvalfeldt fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in AIK's zone, Joar Gustavsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bengt Svensson came out of the goal and Joar Gustavsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Gunnar Qvalfeldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gunnar Qvalfeldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bengt Svensson came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Kvarteret Skatan's Joar Gustavsson. But to his dismay, Joar Gustavsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Edvin Giöck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Kvarteret Skatan's Tobias Kämpe got a free kick in the 44th minute. Kvarteret Skatan's John Kalfhage played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunnar Qvalfeldt in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The supporters of Kvarteret Skatan booed when AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronny Bennet didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Gunnar Qvalfeldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. John Kalfhage was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. John Kalfhage showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunnar Qvalfeldt in the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Leo Arhenius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gösta Britz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Bengt Svensson made a huge save. Ingvar Hylander hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. If Leo Arhenius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
