But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Holger Springfält couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute, Mats Asklöv hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Varnhem BK's Sten Lidström tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Robert Termander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustaf Brandt having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, Varnhem BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Termander to maneuver through the defense. Jan-Ove Björling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Arhenius having to interfere. Emil Arhenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Holger Springfält, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Emil Arhenius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Holger Springfält in the 54th minute. 55 minutes into the match, Varnhem BK's Robert Termander sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustaf Brandt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Hammarbibajen getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Johan Heggert hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Åkesson in the 72nd minute of play forced Hammarbibajen's goalkeeper Gustaf Brandt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan-Ove Björling might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emil Arhenius. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan-Ove Björling ran back to his position shaking his head. If Robert Termander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute Robert Termander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaf Brandt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
