Per Winström who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Egil Melander when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Per Winström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Frans Haegg fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lions FC's protests and gave Frans Haegg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tavsancali Spor getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Melker Fogel hit a great ball. Michel Kuse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charlie Petersson in the 22nd minute of the match. Per Winström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Egil Melander made a huge save. Alvar Melin's late challenge caught a Tavsancali Spor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alvar Melin helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes Lions FC got a freekick which was hit by Alvar Melin. Arne Ek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Tavsancali Spor's Michel Kuse got control of the ball when Charlie Petersson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Michel Kuse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alf Skålberg in the 71st minute of play. Alf Skålberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tavsancali Spor's zone, Charlie Petersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michel Kuse came out of the goal and Charlie Petersson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Lions FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
