In the 4th minute, Valter Duset fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Olov Ahlstedt struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Oscar Holm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Västra FC. When Michel Bäcklin came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Vitå fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michel Bäcklin couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the game, Vitå's Allan Asmundsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lars Granström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a little luck, Vitå's Oscar Holm got control of the ball when Valter Duset tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Vitå's zone, Olov Ahlstedt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Holm came out of the goal and Olov Ahlstedt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oscar Holm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olov Ahlstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Valter Duset did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Oscar Holm 28 minutes into the match. Allan Asmundsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars Granström having to interfere. 39 minutes into the game, Vitå's Michel Bäcklin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lars Granström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michel Bäcklin was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ture Hellkvist made a precise shot to the right of Lars Granström. Västra FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Asmundsson got free with Lars Granström in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Vitå getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ture Hellkvist hit a great ball. Valter Duset recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vitå's Oscar Holm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olov Ahlstedt in the 65th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Västra FC's Vincent Ahlfors got a free kick in the 66th minute. When Valter Duset was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 73 minutes had been played. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Bäcklin in the 79th minute of play forced Västra FC's goalkeeper Lars Granström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Michel Bäcklin came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Vitå fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michel Bäcklin couldn't finish the play. Västra FC's Lars Granström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Västra FC from getting a goal against them.
