After 5 minutes, Jörgen Snell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kungsäter FK and the Manchester United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Mårten Qvalfeldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United's supporters rose to their feet, but Mårten Qvalfeldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kim Månsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mårten Qvalfeldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kim Månsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Kent Kruuse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Månsson having to interfere. Manchester United's Kent Kruuse got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 22 minutes into the game, Kent Kruuse cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Kim Månsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Manchester United fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Manchester United's Mårten Qvalfeldt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vidar Kolberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ted Vester having to interfere. Victor Wenerdahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ted Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Wenerdahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vidar Kolberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ted Vester having to interfere. Kurt Kråk charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kurt Kråk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Manchester United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Kungsäter FK:s goal. After the first half Manchester United were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Kent Kruuse made the kick off in the second half. Kent Kruuse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jens-Åke Tingelholm during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes Kungsäter FK got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Åke Tingelholm. Filip Melberg kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute Victor Wenerdahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ted Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Manchester United's Vilgot Åman got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 66th match minute, Manchester United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilgot Åman to maneuver through the defense. If Victor Wenerdahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Kurt Kråk in the 72nd minute really tested Kim Månsson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The audience was convinced that Vidar Kolberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ted Vester was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 75th minute, Vilgot Åman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Wenerdahl in the 76th minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Ted Vester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kungsäter FK's Kim Månsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Kruuse in the 78th minute of play. Kent Kruuse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kim Månsson having to interfere. Victor Wenerdahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ted Vester having to interfere. When Victor Wenerdahl came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Kungsäter FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Wenerdahl couldn't finish the play. After having played for 91 minutes, Vidar Kolberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kungsäter FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vidar Kolberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Manchester United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
